Undercover Macomb deputy saves drowning suspect after moped chase

A police chase turned into a water rescue Wednesday in Mount Clemens.

A Macomb County Sheriff undercover deputy was in pursuit of an individual with a felony warrant when he fled on a moped, leading deputies through the city then going off-road.

The man then left the moped and tried to swim across the Clinton River. Deputies on the scene noticed him struggling to swim and start to disappear under the water.
